Kritzel KI is an experimental project situated at the intersection of artificial intelligence, participatory practice, and aesthetic critique. It deliberately challenges the hyper-polished, standardized visual language typical of contemporary image generators by prioritizing imperfection and unpredictability, over technical refinement. Central to the project is the use of children’s drawings as training material, embedding a collaborative and distinctly non-normative visual language into the system’s outputs.





The project is based on a three-day art workshop with children, whose drawings were collected as a transparent, collaboratively produced dataset. These contributions were then used to train a StyleGAN model.
